How to Set Google Services



What are Google Services?



Google Services allow you to showcase the specific services your business offers at each location directly from PinMeTo. This feature is ideal for service-based businesses such as hair salons, fitness centers, auto repair shops and more.

Adding services improves your local SEO by helping your business appear in search results when customers look for specific offerings. Clear service listings also build trust with your customers by providing transparent and detailed information about what you offer.

Make sure you have the right categories. The list of services you can choose from is based on your Google business categories. Before adding services, review your primary and additional categories to ensure they accurately represent your business. This ensures you’ll have access to the most relevant service options for your industry.

How to Add Services



Add Services for a Single Location


Go to Listings > Locations
In the list of locations, click on the row for the location you want to update.
In the details page, scroll down to the Google section and click on Services. This will open a popup where you can view existing services or add new ones.


To add a service:

Open the dropdown to see the list of available services based on your Google business categories.
Select a service from the list.
If your service is not listed, type its name in the text field next to the dropdown.
Note: Services added through the text field require Google's review and approval before they are published.
Click Create to add the service to your list.

Once you've added a service to your list, you can fill out optional information:
Price: Enter "0" for free services or leave the field blank to not list a price.
Description: Explain the service to customers (max 300 characters).

Repeat these steps for all the services you want to add, then click Update to save your changes.


Add Services for Multiple Locations


Go to Listings > Locations
In the list of locations, click on the row for the location you want to update.
In the details page, scroll down to the Google section and click on Services to open the Google Services popup.

Add the services you want using the instructions above.
Click Select Locations at the bottom of the popup.
Use the checkboxes to select the locations where you want to apply the same list of services.

Review the Services column to see if a location already has services. Selecting locations with existing services will overwrite them with the new list. To avoid overwriting, deselect locations with existing services.

Once you’ve finalized your selection, click Update to apply the changes across the chosen locations.

Why can't I add services to my location?


Google decides the availability of services based on your address and business categories. Adding more relevant categories can allow you to edit services.

Finding the right categories can be tricky. For example, if your main category is “Restaurant” but you offer catering or private dining, try searching for categories like “Caterer” or “Event Venue.” Look for terms related to the services you want to add in Google’s category list.

What category should I set for my services?


The services available depend on the categories you select. To choose the best categories:

Try searching the list of categories with words you would use to describe the service.
(e.g. searching 'engrave' will give you categories 'Engraver' and 'Jewelry engraver')
Try asking yourself; if you only provided the service, what would your primary category be?
Remember that additional categories don't have to describe the core of your business.

Why do I have ‘Services’ in Google Business Profile, but not in PinMeTo?


Google uses "services" in two ways:

Services: These are the services you can choose from or add yourself, including options to set a price and description. In PinMeTo, these are called "Services."
Google Attributes: Predefined options related to your business type (e.g., “Take-away: Yes/No”). These appear in the "Attributes" section in the "Google" part of the location details page in PinMeTo.

How should I describe my service?


The description tells customers about your service and helps them decide if your offering is relevant.

Explain what is included and set clear expectations.
Use simple, direct language, and keep it short (up to 300 characters).
